With the Christmas season right around the corner, TechPixies celebrated early with a sparkly party on November 25th. In attendance were nearly 50 TechPixies from six different cohorts along with key members of the management and advisory boards and original members of the Made with Joy team. The party was held in the Iffley Church Hall where TechPixies first launched in November 2015.
The incredible meal was provided by cohort 3 TechPixie, Pippa Hamwee, and all tickets to the event were sold as donations. In total, the TechPixies raised £600 to give away two two incredible charities who are helping to elevate children and women in Kenya and India.
Nancy Hunt, who founded The Nasio Trust had this to say upon hearing they would be receiving £300:
“Thank you so much for your amazing support. We will put the funds towards food for our children over the Christmas holiday and send you photos. This is great and will make a huge difference. We really appreciate it.”
Nora Angst, who founded Let’s Share was also very excited to receive £300 and said:
“Oh, what a blessing, it is so awesome that the TechPixies thought of Let’s Share. It is such a generous amount. I had just today received a message about one of our former widows. I intend to help her with this money and will write her story so you know where the money is going. Lots of love and thank you.”
Joy Foster, founder of TechPixies explains why these two charities were chosen for the Christmas Dinner appeal:
We chose The Nasio Trust and Let’s Share as our charities this year because of their incredibly compassionate work for children and women, both of which resonate with us. These charities have a track record of spending money wisely and changing lives for the better.
The TechPixies would like to thank 923jobs.com for sponsoring a case of gorgeous pink prosecco! It did not last long…
