Advertising for periods likes to paint a picture that your ‘time of the month’ is no bother at all.
Except anyone who has lived with the reality of heavy periods knows what a nonsense this is.
Excruciating pain and leaks from gushing/flooding events that no sanitary product can prevent make you either fearful of leaving the house or needing to carry a change of clothes with you if you do.
But the cost isn’t just physical or emotional. There’s also the monetary cost of the sheer volume of sanitary products you go through, not to mention the days you’re simply unable to function or get to work.
